Pebble Beach Golf Links is revered for it s design
by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant. Since 1919, the course never left the
roster of great golf courses of the world. Any golfer who leaves this
course unmoved, let alone unbowed, has missed what so many others cherish
about this sacred place.
This finishing hole par 5 is one of the longest and most difficult on
the Tour. The tee shot is most important because of the range of options.
This hole is definitely risk-reward. Hitting the green in two has everything
to do with ball placement and the elements blowing in off Carmel Bay.
If one attempts to cut the corner, the ball should cut right to left in
order to have a shot at the green. If the ball is struck poorly, one could
easily end up in the sand or the crashing waves carrying your ball out
to sea.
